This award is presented to an individual or business that embraces cultural differences, exemplifies leadership and commitment to equitable practices that builds an inclusive workplace. This individual or business addresses advancing diversity, equity and the removal of barriers in the Greater Barrie Community with clear and positive impacts as a result of their efforts within the last year.
Requirements
An individual or business that demonstrates:
- Incorporate equity, diversity, and inclusion in organizational strategy
- Hiring practices that build an equitable, inclusive workplace culture
- Provides equitable access to staff training and leadership opportunities
- Demonstrates commitment to coaching and/or mentoring others in the workplace and/or the community as it relates to equity, diversity and inclusivity
- Introduces initiatives, programs and/or projects internally and/or externally, that contribute to the advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion
- Recognized as a strong business partner through active involvement in supporting community, charitable and civic organizations
